Our Spelling Routine:
*Please note that this schedule is based on a 5 day week. Adjustments are made for shorter weeks.
Monday: >Spelling Pre-Test is given
>Homework- Make up 5 original spelling sentences with at least 2 words from the spelling list in each.
Tuesday: >5 students each share a spelling sentence for the class to copy. These are the sentences to study for the test.
Wednesday:>Spelling workbook pages or other activity completed in class.
>Homework- Write spelling words 3x each in cursive (due on Test Day).
Thursday: >Spelling review game (if time permits)
Friday: >Spelling test!
>Next week's spelling list sent home
Grading:
>Words-The 25 spelling words are worth 4 points each, for a total of 100 points per test.
>Sentences- Each sentences is worth 5 points, with spelling AND grammar graded.
- We begin the year studying 3 sentences for week. During the 2nd 9 weeks, we will study 4 sentences. Finally, during the 3rd 9 weeks, we will study 5 sentences.
